Née à Wintzenheim, près de Colmar, Florine Langweil a été l’un des marchands d’art asiatique les plus réputés de Paris avant la Première Guerre mondiale. Très attachée à son Alsace natale, elle a fait don au Musée Unterlinden de près de 250 objets d’art de la Chine et du Japon. Die in Wintzenheim bei Colmar geborene Florine Langweil zählte vor dem Ersten Weltkrieg zu den angsehendsten Händer- linnen asiatischer Kunst in Paris. Sie blieb ihrer elsässischen Heimat stets verbunden und überließ dem Musée Unterlinden rund 250 Kunstwerke aus China und Japan. Florine Langweil was born in Wintzenheim, near Colmar, and was one of the most highly-regarded dealers in Asian art in pre- World War One Paris. She was very much attached to her native Alsace, and donated nearly 250 decorative objects from China and Japan to the Musée Unterlinden.
